Depreciation calculation for Capitalised CIP assets is incorrect

 Hi,

 In Dec-11 a CIP Asset is added with amount 7731958.77 in cutover. In Jan-2013 have capiltalised this asset with date placed in service given as 31st Dec 2012 (Dec-12 was already closed at this time).

 The depreciation was calculated as follows;

 For Dec-11- No Depreciation

 For Jan-13-Depreciation Amount=218895.6364 , Adjustment Amount= 218297.56. So total depreciation is shown as 437193.197

 It is not clear why the system calculates depreciation for 2 months. The requirement is to show only depreciation for Jan-13 (31 days) and 31st Dec 2012 (1 day).

 Prorate Convention = Daily

 Please let me know why it's possible to enter date placed in service as a prior period date. Is this the cause for this issue? Please clarify..

Howdy, Stranger!
