Update Value Set Parameters

If a system has been in use for few years, is it possible to update the Value Set parameters related to Format Validation, specially parameters Numbers Only, Upper Case Only and Right Justify and Zero Fill Numbers.

Will there be any impact if we modify any of the existing setups in regard to above parameters?
