Invoice validation take longer than usual time

Dear All,

Recently the users are complaining that invoice validation is taking longer than it used to be. It is usually take around 1 to 2 mins to complete, and now it take like a hour to complete.

What could be the possible cause for this performance degration and how to troubleshoot this?
