switch over and switching back of standby database

Hi,
I need a info on switching over and switching back of standby database.

My facing issue when switching backto standby

I am able to switch the stand by to primary.
after switching to primary it is working as expected.

But when i switchin back to standby redo log are not applying on standby.

Please tell me the actual step by step process of switching to primary and switchin back to standby.
