Custom Menu with multiple seeded responsibilies

I want to create a custom responsibility that needs to combine sever different seeded responsibilities for example inventory, bill of material, WIP, cost management etc. I understand the only way to do this is to create a custom menu. Is there a demo or sample out there that can direct me to do this? Please advise. Thank you very much.
