Required Info on CLAF

Hi Experts,
We have built some basic xss file to create a custom skin for Absence Management module, But we are expecting some way around where I can customize the HTML generation from XML, I know this cat be done using uit template and also by writing java logic, Now the problem is that I am not getting any good document how to do that customization.
Please provide us some link that can explain this customization with example.
