Using R3002Z1I to remove BOMs

Is it possible to use R3002Z1I to remove BOMs as well as add them? I tried entering in the 'Z' file the parent, component, 'D' in the transaction action field and the branch from which I wanted the BOM removed. The UBE processed successfully and the records in the 'Z' file were marked 'Y'. What am I missing?
