mvcrpt and audit status

I have an mvc that the mvcrpt-detail and audit, an mvc's status shows as both B(roken) and U(sage:

Since according to the vtcs reference, U allows for  The MVC is available for output (migration, reclamation, export, or consolidation)

Does that mean that it is safe to run an mvcmaint error-off to remove the B(roken) flag......or is Broken, broken for life?

(not known whether an rtd issue or the media caused the B flag to be set)

We have a number of mvcs that show B  but also U, which I'm confused by the doc as to whether or not these should be ejected or retried.
