Batch Process to Automatically Cancel Backorders

We have a requirement to allow backorders at order entry, but later in the order process any orders that have backordered amount need to be cancelled through a UBE set up in scheduler.  The lines to be cancelled will have already been split so the backorder quantity is on its own line.

I am unaware of any such UBE in standard JDE, so I was thinking of building a simple UBE and calling the F4211 Edit Line MBF to cancel the affected lines.

I am curious if anyone has come across this requirement and found a good solution they are willing to share.
