Need help on Plan

Hi, I am newbie in the field of CWB, i am defining one plan for Salary Increment (Using salary proposal).

Now my doubt is do i need to create an option always while creating a plan ar we can do without an option. i.e is option creation mandatory while creating a Plan.

Also after the plan is craeted i am not able to see the salary increment(After running post process).

Kindly help in this regard.
