Ledger Setup - Completion status code

Hi
I have completed ledger setup in GL after complete   COMPLETION_STATUS_CODE  column showing  NULL in back end table

anybody tell me  what is the meaning of " COMPLETION_STATUS_CODE" in  gl_ledger table

and when the column value will be populated as " CONFIRMED"
