How to use "adjust price list" without creation date?

We are attempting to adjust the prices on a price list by an item category.  The issue is that it won't work unless a creation date is entered. We don't care about the creation date. We want every item in the category we enter to be adjusted and of course they don't all have the same creation date! How do we do this?
