Autopopulating the contact record with a field value from Service Request Object

HI,
Under Service Request while creating a new contact record, I need to pass a field value from Service Request into the contact record.
I am known of the fact that joinfieldvalue doesn't works here as there is no foreign key reference available for the SR object in the contact table.
Is there any way that this requirement is feasible.
Please provide your valuable suggestions.
