Increase Value Set Maximum Size

 Hello everyone,
I have a plan to increase the Maximum Size of the Value Set which is using in a segment of Accounting Flexfield Segment.
e.g

The existing COA is
01.1000.00

I would like to increase the second segment to have the Maximum Size to 8. So it should be
01.10000000.00

I would like to know if there is any effect for this changing.
Would you please share me  what is the effect and what should I carefull or should not do?
