Best Practices for Managing Exception Messages in ASCP?

We are mid-way through a long-term implementation of ASCP.  We have some planners using it and others working on the transition from spreadsheets to ASCP.  We currently run unconstrained plans. 

We are impressed that ASCP seems to always know when there is a problem with quantities or dates, but not impressed that those exception messages are not always easy to find.  For example compression doesn't show up in the standard action tree, but the data is there if you go looking for it.  And simply to be alerted to an impending shortage without reviewing each item in a horizontal plan one at a time would be wonderful.
