Change History and History when merging two Agile instances

Good morning,

The company i work for is acquiring another company, who is running the same version of Agile. We will evetually be merging the two into 1 Agile instance. Is there any way to transfer the information on the change history and history tabs of items abd objects? Or will the history from whichever instance we discontinue be lost?
