Anyone have experience with externalizing JDE World and Web Enablement?

 We have an open ticket which has been deferred to Rocket, but just wondering if anyone has had any experience externalizing JDE World outside of the firewall past using a VPN. Our application works fine internally, but just trying to proxy it via Apache is failing on the actual JWALK connect. We have it set to use tunneling based on the documentation, but it is just not taking the settings, also we are using SSL vs just 80 and the documentation is all based on tunneling on port 80.
