HFM 11.1.1.3-SQL Server 2005 to HFM 11.1.2.1-SQL Server 2008 Upgrade

Hi,
I need to upgrade from HFM 11.1.1.3-SQL Server 2005 to HFM 11.1.2.1-SQL Server 2008 upgrade.
New environment and new DB server will be used during this upgrade, existing 11.1.1.3 environment will be live for some time.
For this upgrade,
HFM
Foundation
FR
R&A Framework
EPMA

are used. My question is, is it enough to export DB schemas&data from SQL 2005 and import SQL 2008, then upgrade and configure EPM products ? Does it work ?
Or I must upgrade from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1 replicating and using SQL 2005 schemas, after everything is upgraded and running, then upgrade SQL Server 2008 ?

What is the best practice ?
