Parent configured item and sub-assembly configured item

Hi

A user enter an order of a configured parent item.  A configured sub-assembly item is attached to that parent according to certain criterias after validation.  Both of them create work orders.  We need to produce the sub-assembly before the parent item. 

The user go back in the kit/configurator and change a criteria that will change the configured sub-assembly. 

What is the beat practice? Cancel the line in order detail and re-enter or validation will do the work?
