PSUs and opatch auto - Why the Occassional "Unable to determine if $ORACLE_HOME is shared oracle hom
Hi DBAs:
This is 11.2.0.2 with RAC databases of the same releases. Everything runs on rhel 5. I'm on my second cluster applying the Jan 2013 PSU for Linux x86-64. The patch number is 14841385 which contains both GI 11.2.0.2.6 (13696242) and RDBMS 11.2.0.9 (14724315).
The command is to apply the patches to all Oracle Homes at once, so: sudo opatch auto . -ocmrf $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/ocm/ocm.rsp
The patch starts normally, detects Clusterware but then claims it cannot detect if the affected Oracle homes are shared or not. Here's an excerpt from the log:
Detected Oracle Clusterware install
Using configuration parameter file: /u01/grid/11.2.0.2/crs/install/crsconfig_params
