ATP based on planning output

Hello,

Appreciate if anyone can help me to understand how ATP based on planning output works.

In the ATP plan, we have both forecast and sales order demand.

When a new sales order is scheduled, will the ATP logic consider the existing planned order supply created in the ATP plan for unconsumed forecasts, or will it create a new planned order supply for the new sales order demand?
