Java and P6 R8.2 EPPM - Update Strategy
PLEASE HELP
I am running P6 R8.2 SP2, HF 16. All of my P6 clients are complaining about Java issues when they accessing P6 Web. My web server is running JDK 1.6 update 27, which triggers Java problems of all kinds with every browser.
Connected client problems include (not limited to): Applet windows with invisible or incomplete functions (Global scheduled services window), constant message for updating JRE due to server web request from outdated Java, Page time outs, etc, etc, etc...
Does anyone have a bit of advice or best practice for managing through all of this Java non-sense at both the server level and at the pc desktop client level???? I don't know whether my server is even safe running JDK 1.6.27, but if I change the version of Java JDK on the server, my entire P6 Deployment develops insurmountable problems.
