Dealing with tablespace getting filled up

edited Mar 12, 2013 6:36AM in Database Administration (MOSC) 11 commentsAnswered ✓
I am getting alerts stating that a particular tablespace is 91% full. I know I can either increease the size of a tablespace by adding datafiles or shrink existing datafiles. Is there any other way? Or how do I go about determining which way is the best way to go in a particular situation?

Does it make a difference if the filled up tablespace is a regular tablespace or a temporary tablespace?

Can someone guide me in the process of adding datafiles or shrining existing ones?

Howdy, Stranger!
