Parameter "cell_offload_processing" in a non-exadata database

Hi,

Please could someone confirm whether the following parameter may as well be set to FALSE in a non-exadata database "cell_offload_processing" ?

I cannot find any information about it within the 11203 documentation, but I have read a couple of blogs about it and also read note 1308282.1. This note suggests that it will do no harm to set this parameter to FALSE, but I am really looking for something more concrete.

I am a little confused as we recently created a database using dbca (11203) and was surprised to see that it was set to TRUE by default.
