Planning Inventory Points with ASCP in an OPM environment
We have an OPM (process manufacturing) environment and production of there are 2 types of recipes: Finished Good (FG), and for Bulk Item (BI).
With ASCP we are seeing demand for the FG pulling production of the BI, but sometimes demand is not equal to the BI lot size so there is a planned consumption over time. This is not feasible in reality as BI cannot be stored until there are new FG demands to pull it into the bottling routing of FGs.
Can Planned Inventory Points be a solution in this case? Would they work between routings?
If not, how can the remains of the BI production lot be forced into a FG production order?
