Essbase RTC Patches: Impossible to apply both x64 and x32 to 64bit systems

In both 11.1.2.1 and 11.1.2.2 streams it appears that it is impossible to fully upgrade a 64bit server (e.g. Windows 2008R2) to the Essbase PSU level as the 64bit patches only contain the RTC-64 elements.

Applying the x32 version of the patch results in the x64 PSU being rolled back as oPatch sees them as the same patch number, and vise-versa.

When a Windows 2008R2 EPM base install is done the installer lays down both Essbase RTC and RTC-64 folders which allow the likes of FDM and EPMA to co-reside and call upon the approriate 32/64bit Essbase API. Patching such a system currently results in having to make a decision on whether the PSU will be most beneficial to the 32 OR 64bit libraries, and hence application of the approriate platform PSU.

Howdy, Stranger!
