PAY: Retropay Enhanced not Picking up Recurring Elements

All - We have a situation when employees have a recurring element entered on a previously run payroll several months ago.  Retropay enhanced will not capture the change unles we enter a "ghost" element, which is entering a non-recurring element with zero hours.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Is there patch or bug that I cannot locate?  We upgradeded to R12 in October 2012 and this problem seems to have happened since then.
