Contracts Service Availability is not working for ATO items

We need to use the Contracts Service Availability functionality.  We have configured items (ATO Models) that generate ATO Items (star numbers).

Is there a way to set up the service availability at the ATO Model and have Oracle recognize as valid all the ATO Items generated from the ATO Model?

It is maintenance nightmare to have to add all ATO Items (star numbers) to the Contracts Service Availability .  Is there some set up that I am missing?
