Why it is necassry to must enable Inventory Asset Flag to Yes while Defining for LCM ??

 Hi, HOPE YOU ALL FINE AND DOING WELL I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHY IT IS NECESSARY TO MUST ENABLE THE INVENTORY ASSET FALG TO Y for LCM. 

I have recently done all the setups and they are right too but while i was creating the PO it wasnt goes for the approval then after seeing all the thing i have found this check under item defination was missing therefore now things starts working but here me wanted to know their business flow ??

kindly have a consultation in this regards plz
