Server side and client side load balancing
I am relatively new in RAC administration and have recently started reading Oracle university RAC administration guides. I am caught up in an urgent issue and can't wait until I complete reading the guides.
We have a 2 node RAC on AIX Servers. Both local and remote listeners are configured on both nodes. Also, the database connection string of application includes LOAD_BALANCE=YES.
My questions are:
1. Are configuring local and remote listeners, and including LOAD_BALANCE=YES in tnsnames.ora file both examples of client side load balancing?
2. Are configuring local and remote listeners, and including LOAD_BALANCE=YES in tnsnames.oar file mutually exclusive?
