SLA or Account Generator

Hi Oracle experts,

Though it may look silly doubt, but would like to seek some clarifications on the following point:

When we have SLA through which we can customize our accounting needs to generate accounting entreis to suit business needs, why then Account Generator which almost does the same function as that of SLA.  Account Generator also construct accounting code combinations based on the rules setup.

Kindly clarify.
