how can i filter a report based on teh below criteria

Hi,

i have a report that i want to filter based on the criteria of the user who logged in.  so it woudl be something like this in non-tech speak:

show me all the opportunity records where the distribution channel of the opportunity  is equal to the distribution channel of the user who is logged in (and running the report)

distribution channel is a custom field on the opportunity record and user record that we maintain.

any help would be appreciated.
