OTL labor transaction failing in interface to eAM work orders: "Transaction date precedes release da

Using customized OTL template to update eAM work orders.  Getting error when trying to report labor on work order not created/released  until after work has been done: "Transaction date precedes release date for the job/schedule."  Much of client's work is done weekends and off shift when no one is on duty to create work orders.  Even during days work is often started (production down/breakdown/safety) before the order is created/released.

What has anyone else done who is using OTL for labor with eAM?
