Limit on Projects on Proposals

Is there a limitation on the number of projects that institutions have found to be the max on the generate award process?  We have generated successfully multiple proposals with project numbers slightly under 50.  This had been our max until recently.  We are now having issues with generating proposals with the project count approaching 100.  It appears to be at this point more of a system issue, more than a peopletools issue.thank you
