best approach for recovery

We have Oracle 11g data guard configuration in production . The primary db crashes and now the standby is working as primary.Now we want to make the primary db up and  dg configuration .We are thinking of reinstalling the db and dg conf by script and then import (will be taken from current primary)the whole db (10gb) into both the primary & standby db.

Is this the correct approach ? will there be any issue?Please suggest.
