PTQ tax: Why should CCSID value must be set to 37 value and which user profiles need this value?

Q:  Why should the job CCSID need to be set at the value of 37?  Should this value be change for all user using AS/400 or only those that involve in the payroll/ interim run process?

A: As stated in solution ID 1446735.1 that the CCSID value for any integration to Vertex PTQ must be '37' regardless if you are running a single-byte or double-byte environment.  The reason is that the default value of CCSID is set to 65535 which is the setting for the double-byte environments.  The new tax calculation jobstream J06VTXXML for PTQ will not function properly (not tax will calculate) if the job CCSID is set to the default value of 65535 or any other values (Bug
