Disk errors on 2 node rac on virtual hosts

 I have a 2 node rac cluster using red hat Linus on 2 virtual host(I,'m not using the oracle gm software).   The install went ok , both nodes come up but after a few minutes I get contention issues on the disks.  We're using udev to configure the disk.   What step did I miss in setting up the disk?
