Standard Upgrade : What is the impact for Supplier/Customer that should belong to the same party in

Hi All,
Does anybody know what the standard upgrade scripts do about Supplier/Customer that are the same ?
I mean in 11i we have Customers and Suppliers that are should belong to the same party in R12 (ie they have the same Name, same Tax Registration Num)

Does the standard updrade plan a merge of both into one only party ? Does it only a manual process post upgrade ?
Please advise
