Query on Launch Pick release from shipping transaction form

Hi,

When we do pick release for shipping transaction form for item which are serial controlled...we are seeing the below sequence

Item with serial control as at sales order issue...move order has been auto allocated and transacted...during ship confirm via ST form...from tools menu we can enter serial numbers

Item with serial control at receipt...move order has been release to warehouse..while transacting the MO..we are giving the serial numbers..

Even though in shipping parameters auto allocate is checked

Just want to know if this is intended..

Please advise
