Multiple subinventory and locators set up for transaction defaults

HI,

We have many items that have multiple subinventory and locators assigned to them. My question is how the transaction defaults should be set up. Currently we have two scenarios.

1.     The subinventory tab on Transaction defaults has one subinventory assigned for Shipping and the Locator tab has two or more subinventories for Shipping, Receiving and Move orders.

2.     The subinventory tab on Transaction defaults has nothing listed and the Locator tab has two or more subinventories for Shipping, Receiving and Move orders.

If we choose the first set up will the shipping transactions always default to the subinventory that was set in the subinventory tab and ignore the locator tab?
