sales order line type W with lot number

 I'm entering in a sales order via p42101.

I enter quantity '1'

I enter item 'A'

I enter in Lot Number '1234'

I enter line type 'W'

I save and close

I inquire on the sales order and a work order(header) is created. 

When I inquire on the work order created all the information for the sales order header comes over except the lot number. The lot number in the work order is blank.  

I've check processing option on both p42101,p4210 and p48013 none of which solve my problem. 

Has anyone ever tried to enter a sales order for a specific lot?
