Poor performance AP data fix patch 13695632

I am running the fix portion of data fix patch 13695632 and it is performing very poorly.  After 5 hours, only 13,000 records out of 1,012,904 records were processed. I am only running with 1 worker but even if I multiplied the data processed by the single worker by 8, that would still be minimal number of records processed.  The data fix package being called by the script is also valid.  In addition, there are no errors in the database alert log.  The script is running because I do see records being processed and the process flag does change.  It is just running slowly is all.  We need to figure
