Can Account Derivation Rules (ADR) be used for Intracompany JE creation?

We have a situation where the intracompany balancing rules functionality does not handle a scenario.  We'd like to know if Account Derivation Rules (ADR) can be used for deriving the accounts used to create balancing intracompany entries.  It's clear that ADR can be used for intercompany.  I've read the AGIS user's guide but I'm not clear on if ADR can be used for intracompany.  I also read note 1502418.1 that states the following.

Goal

How Intercompany Accounts are derived in AGIS, when there are clearing accounts defined both through Transaction Account Definition (TAD) with Account Derivation Rules (ADR) and in Intercompany Accounts under Accounting Setup Manager ?

Howdy, Stranger!
