Asset put in service too early - how to correct?

Hello,

I'm hoping someone has some insights from experience with a similar problem.  We booked an asset and put it in service in Fixed Assets Manager two years ago.  It has one year left to depreciate.  It has just come to my attention that this asset has not, infact, been placed in service out in the "real world" and will be actually placed in service at a future date.

Is there a best practice on handling/correcting this situation so as to be reflected accurately in assets?  Thanks!
