Automatically Open Period

We are on 12.1.3.  My users in Project Accounting want the GL period to be automatically opened on the first day of each month.  I do not see any system option that automates opening periods.  I didn't come up with anything after researching in My Oracle Support, either. 

I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone knew differently before I communicate to my users that they will have to keep manually opening the periods.
