How to remove alerts that won't go away.

Hello,

I have alerts that are in my Grid control and in a database instance that won't go away no matter what i do.  i think it may be stuck.  Is there a process and if so what is the process to manually remove these?

Please let me know when you can.

I see i forgot to include what i am running.  DB env is 11gR2 and Grid Control is 11G. 

I have done acknowledge and the alert still shows up.  i haven't tried disabling the metric and reenabling it.  when i query the mgmt tables i can see the alert is still there.
