Battery failure on T2000 not setting system SERVICE LED on.
I have two T2000 servers where the ALOM battery died.On the first server, it did what I expected and set the main system service LED to on, which was detected by the enterprise monitoring system.
On the second server, the same battery failed, the same Firmware version was in use, but the main system service LED was off.
In this latter case, the enterprise monitoring system did not see any failures, even though the battery was dead.
The lesson I learned here was to make sure the monitoring system looks for any warnings in the "prtdiag -v" output and not just rely on the system service LED.
