HFM installation using HOST Alias but while creating cluster only network host name comes up in choi

We are installing EPM suite using hostname to follow DR best practice.  All other Hyperion component installed and configured successfuly (i.e. Foundation, FR, WA) using local host alias (provided in etc/host).  However in HFM during configuration, while creating cluster the Host Alias name is not even showing up in choice of server to be added.  The only server shows up is Network host name, where DNS name resolves to. 

When installation started the first screen ( where all pre-requisites are checked) it did show the host alias, but it is not showing during HFM cluster creation.  The database creation for HFM was also done using alias for database server and that configuration passed with no issue.
