ORA-00257 archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed.

I am getting this error when I try to login via sqlplus with my username and password. But I was able to login as sysdba without any issues.

I did some research and looks like it I have to look into log_archive_dest parameter but turns out my init.ora file does not have this parameter. How can I resolve this issue?
