Virtualizing Hyperion

Hello Gurus,
Our Hyperion Servers are off lease next year.  We were asked if Virtualization was supported to help cut down the cost of leasing servers.  I have found people who have done it, but is it recommended and are there many, if any, known issues? We are currently using 11.1.2.1.  When my manager helped install hyperion quite a few years ago, virtualization was not recommended at all for hyperion.  But that more than 5 years ago.
